Our youth workshops serve kids ages 3 through teens and are designed to assist kids in exploring and developing their artistic voice.

Winter/Spring Workshop Schedule is broken up into two sessions.
Artonomy will provide all necessary art materials and tools.

Session One - January 11th through March 22 (11 weeks)

Artonomy Birthday Parties!!!

Let Artonomy host your next birthday party. Parties and art projects are designed around your child's interest. Past party themes and ideas: Halloween Masks, A Snow White fantasy, Reptiles in Ink, (T-shirt printing). Art projects bring the party to life and are sophisticated party favors. In addition, Artonomy's studio space offers a variety of creative play opportunities that are great for all ages.

Basic Package includes: (based on ten participants)

  • Use of studio space for a two-hour party
  • Use of Imagination Stations: Costumes and Stage Area, Puppet Theater, Sand Box, Building big with Blocks, and Critter Corner (includes newts, toads and a guinea pig)
  • Supplies, materials and guided instruction to make an art project
  • Party table for cake, beverages, and presents Cost $235.00

    Workshop Descriptions for Kids Creativity Workshops

    Workshops are designed to assist kids to explore their artistic voice
    through working with art materials, tools and ideas.

    Clever Creations

    Dabble in the arts by crafting such fun projects as: making an animal soap dish, craft a mobile and make a small bound book. Work with a variety of materials and tools to personalize your creations.

    Flowering Snow Flakes Noon Hour

    Bring a sack lunch, craft an art project and enjoy open studio time. Art activities will be connected to seasons and holidays and will bring light to their cultural significance.

    Holiday Theme Workshops

    Workshops for the Week of December 21st—Design, engineer and decorate a pull toy with moveable legs and arms. Use a variety of foods with color and texture to decorate your own gingerbread house. Combine recycled and craft materials to make an ornamental holiday decoration.
    Workshops for the week of December 28th—Ring in the New Year by creating cranes, boxes and jumping frogs. Learn their cultural significance. Liven up your drab wardrobe. Recreate an old t-shirt, pants or shirt. Learn to cut stencils, paint and stamp your way to change your style of dress. Create game to be played by yourself or with another. Look at games of years past. Decorate it with collage and paint.

    Magic Mud

    Immerse yourself in the wonders of clay. Try your hand in the many ways clay can become: make a mug, design and craft a tile, fashion a wall hanging, and make a your own sculpture.

    Open Studio Days

    These workshops are designed for kids to take charge of themselves as creators. It provides time for unstructured play, self-directed art making, and the opportunity to make one art project with guided instruction. Workshops are three hours (9:00 to noon).     Prime Portraits

    Assemble, affix and paint shapes to create a series of relief portraits. Work with wood, recycled materials, plaster and clay. Fashion a self-portrait, a robot, one of your dog or a favorite super hero. Learn to use basic hand tools safely.

    Possible Paint

    Liven up the painter in you! Explore different ways to draw and begin to experiment with color, texture, and shape to create your ideas on canvas. Be inspired by styles from the Impressionists to contemporary Graffiti artists. Find your style by painting from objects, photos and illusions.

    Recycle Robots

    Create your own mechanical creature. Discover how objects change when used for another purpose. How will you animate your robot? Problem-solve your way to connect a variety of shapes and forms. Learn how to safely use basic hand tools.

    Sages—Teen Class

    Relish in your artistic flair! Come join in on the fun and explore a variety of studio art experiences: painting and drawing, printmaking, batik, clay sculpture, and pottery. Studio experiences are chunked into three/four week projects exploring art techniques and materials. Workshops focus on development of artistic voice and style.

    Spring Break—Jump into Spring!

    These are three hour workshops providing more structure to make a given art project. This is a fun filled week with projects that celebrate the seasonal change. Festive flowers include simple tissue poppies to origami daisies. Paint a home for a lonely bird. Create a mini kite to fly with one finger. Mosaic a keepsake chest, and decorate an old piece of clothing to make it new. Click here for details.

    Stellar Sculptures

    Describe your world through molding a sculpture of your favorite animal. Cast your face in plaster and twist wire to fabricate a circus character. Learn the techniques of sculpting by exploring a variety of materials.
